Information About Bali - Kuta

Kuta is the long renowned budget, backpacking and surfing Mecca and remains the best place to begin, end or base your trip to Indonesia but no Kuta has become so much more than this and there are also a number of excellent resorts and hotels that span the mid range and even push towards the top end of the market. These are now to distinct divisions of Kuta Hotels where you can find some excellent resorts located in the very southern area of Kuta which is often referred to as the Tuban area and now around the Legian area you will find some beautiful resorts which are a bit quieter. In between this area there is the poppies lane and Benesari area which remains as it always has been, the backpackers’ and surfers’ area and the vibrant center of the youth. Even this area is becoming more up market as the development of Bali advances which extend into the Kuta hotels. Kuta is located just north of the Airport and is only around a 20 minute drive from here as well as having many newly surfaced roads that lead you to and around the rest of Bali. Almost all of the resorts are either located right on the beach or extremely close to it where there is sun, surf and sea as well as a harmonic marriage of tourists and locals creating a great atmosphere. This atmosphere becomes quieter as you head north where the scene becomes more and more sophisticated towards the Seminyak area.

The Kuta Hotels and resorts in this area usually have two or three large pools with full seating areas and bar areas as well as numerous restaurants. There are of course smaller set ups as well but there are far fewer boutique style places than you will find further north. Kuta is quite a small area so no matter where you are located you will find yourself conveniently close to the beach, the center, the restaurants and the clubs as well as the access out of Kuta. Kuta offers everything you could possibly require during your stay and on the whole you will receive the best value for money due to the competition here than the more exclusive areas.

There are a few different styles of Kuta hotels and resorts in Kuta including the traditional ‘losmen‘style Kuta hotels which often offer an excellent facilities and a high level of luxury as well as offering the classic Kuta layout of rooms around a central garden and pool area. There is also the ‘mod-ethnic’ approach which you will find around the beach areas which combined modern tropical luxury with the traditional building and cultural styles of Bali. These are a great choice although they are slightly more expensive than the latter but are extremely effective and a beautiful place to spend your holiday. There are also the classy modern and contemporary resorts and full traditional style resorts which you will generally find around the Kartiga Plaza are in Tuban.
