Information About Bali - Ubud

Ubud, the cultural heart of Bali and a place very different to the coastal resorts of southern Bali. Ubud is an important location in many respects, besides its exquisite natural beauty and its huge importance to the religion of Balinese Hinduism; it has also been the home to the Balinese royal family for generations which has lead to some incredible sights to see in the area. Located at 600 meters above sea level the climate is still warm but fresher and cooler than the coastal areas, there are also many beautiful and even infamous countryside areas with memorizing paddy fields all sorts temples and tropical forests. As well as this physical beauty there are the palaces, the conservational monkey forest which is important to the locals’ beliefs and to the conservation of these creatures, and culturally as the people of Ubud are some of the most dedicated Hindus on the island and perform the traditional rituals with elegant and energy as well as being incredibly friendly. There are many other attractions in the area including the elephant caves and the art markets. There are some incredible markets offering many kinds of crafts, Ubud has always been a creative place where performers and artists stayed to impress the locals, when you see the inspiration they have had you will understand then how so much amazing art comes from these villages.

Ubud Hotels are usually villas or small hotel building often located around the hillsides specifically selected for their breathtaking views and enchanting aesthetics. As with anywhere in Bali the Ubud Hotels and villas differ between modern and traditional although you will find there are more traditional villas located around this area and there is a real presence of natural timbres and Balinese culture which ties in nicely with the entire area. There are again some mid range and budget Ubud Hotels all of which represent this kind of simple elegant country style which has roots in the Balinese culture and has an incredibly refreshing and reviving effect on the body and soul. Whether you are over looking the valleys or not you will be very close to them and able to take walks, jogs or cycle rides around these parts organized usually for free by your Ubud Hotel which is among the many activities and pastimes which are actually easy to get evolved in, cheap and highly memorable. Some of Bali’s most prestigious spas are located in the Ubud area where the environment is often incorporated into the spa offering views and sounds of the jungle as well as the water rushing through the valleys as well as the tropical seclusion and sights that surround the area.
